ABOUT OUR MEALS
GET MEALS
Compassion Delivered prepares and delivers healthy, chef-prepared meals free to people who have been diagnosed with chronic or terminal illnesses. Prepared by Chef Daniel, co-founder of Compassion Delivered, and a team of dedicated weekly volunteers, we deliver meals created from fresh ingredients to support health and wellness. Studies have shown that food can act as medicine and assist healing by observing medication requirements and can decrease hospital admissions and overall healthcare costs. Eliminating the time and stress of shopping and preparing meals for either the patient or their family or caregivers can ensure proper nutritional support. Compassion Delivered can provide to both the patient and their caregiver, as both may be eligible. This allows for more time together, less stress, and better health.
Who is Eligible for Meals
WHO?
We will deliver to any Stark County resident, regardless of age or income and who is living with a documented life-threatening chronic illness or disease such as cancer, end-stage renal disease, congestive heart failure, multiple sclerosis, or another such illness. We serve people that have documented difficulty preparing or accessing healthy meals due to illness treatment, side effects, ambulatory difficulties, or another disability. Currently, we are unable to provide diet-specific meals. Meals are produced in a shared kitchen and may contain allergies such as wheat, soy, dairy, egg, nuts, fish, and shellfish.
WHAT? Our deliveries include 3 frozen meals/entrees and two 16 oz soups. We serve in the Stark County area, and we are unable to deliver meals to anyone living outside of Stark County currently. In the future, we hope to offer the ability to pick up your meals at a designated time at Compassion Delivered.
WHEN? We deliver every Friday. Your delivery date and time are determined by your address. Someone must be home to accept the delivery unless other arrangements have been made. If we need to change or add a delivery day, we will ensure that you receive notice of changes prior to the change or add.
HOW?
All our meals are delivered by a dedicated team of volunteers and members of our staff. If you’d like to volunteer, please visit the volunteer section of our site. If you need meals or know someone who would benefit from our services, please email
info@compassiondelivered.org for an application.
